Our Response to COVID-19
Published on June 28, 2023
At VIVA Retirement Communities, the safety and health of our Community Members, their families and our Team Members is our top priority.
Effective Wednesday June 28, 2023, the long-awaited update for mask requirements and other protocols for Community Members, General Visitors and Essential Visitors is as follows:
MASKING:
Masks will no longer be required to be worn by Community Members and General Visitors, but they are recommended. Essential Visitors who are health care workers are required to wear a mask based on a Point of Care risk assessment. All non-health care visitors are not required to wear a mask, but they are recommended.
COMMUNITY MEMBER SYMPTOM ASSESSMENT:
Wellness will continue to assess Community Members who are symptomatic of COVID-19 as well as their close contacts for signs and symptoms.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
There will no longer be a requirement for training General Visitors and Essential Visitors on the use of personal protective equipment.
GENERAL VISITORS WITH COVID-19 SYMPTOMS:
General Visitors should avoid entering the Community for 10 days after COVID-19 Symptom onset, if possible. If the visit is essential to the Community Member’s mental/physical well-being, the visitor may enter the community but must wear a mask at all times.
Thank you for your ongoing support in complying with these important measures and helping to ensure the safety and well-being of our Community Members.
